Advancing Community, Collaboration, and Training (ACCT) International combines an academic service-learning course with an on-site internship in Jinja, Uganda, for full-time students at Indiana University.

You will learn about approaches to development and key cross-cultural competencies necessary for a career in international public service and community development. Pre-departure topics of study will include key cultural, political, social, historical, and environmental factors, plus an introduction to the principles of project design, implementation, and sustainable development.

You will then have the opportunity to apply what you are learning in the classroom to real-world situations as you work with Ugandan organization staff to design, plan, and implement a project with a focus on sustainability. This program is offered by the O'Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs in partnership with the Foundation for Sustainable Development.
