The African Studies Program collaborates with the IU Center for International Business Education & Research (CIBER).
IU CIBER is a national resource center—one of only 15 such international business-focused centers funded by a Title VI grant from the U.S. Department of Education.
Partnering with IU CIBER on their programs and outreach, we offer expertise in Africa-focused content and language acquisition for our diverse constituents – high school students, teachers, businesses, and the public. This includes for example, IU CIBER’s summer program for high school students Business is Global (BIG), language for business resources and courses, and their Language & Culture video series. IU CIBER helps U.S. businesses meet the challenges of today’s global economy by:
- Providing connections to critical global market resources
- Supporting professional development programson important international business issues
- Strengthening students’ understanding of business in a global context
- Promoting the study of foreign languages
