Our African Studies minor will help you gain a broad, interdisciplinary understanding of the African continent. It provides a basic understanding of African history, a familiarity with African cultures and societies, and the ability to contextualize and analyze current African issues. You will acquire at least an elementary knowledge of a language spoken on the African continent. The minor is sufficiently flexible to complement any departmental major.
