The African Studies Program welcomes partnerships with community organizations.

Lotus Festival and Lotus Blossoms

The African Studies Program and other IU National Resource Centers partner with community-based Lotus Education & Arts Foundation to bring global music and cultural experiences to our community. We support Lotus’s initiatives financially and programmatically, and lend area studies expertise to Lotus Blossom events for all fourth grade classes in Monroe County and to the general public.

Great Decisions: A program of the foreign policy association

Great Decisions is America's largest discussion program on world affairs. Created and run by the Foreign Policy Association (FPA), the program model involves reading the Great Decisions Briefing Book, watching the DVD, and meeting in a Discussion Group to discuss the most critical global issues facing America today. The Indiana Council on World Affairs (ICWA) organizes the Great Decisions program at the state level.
