Ph.D. minor, African Studies

The African Studies Program’s Ph.D. Minor offers students in any field the opportunity to obtain research specialization on Africa, training in interdisciplinary research methods, acquisition of necessary language training, and a grounding in the history of the field of African Studies. To select this minor, you are encouraged to visit the African Studies Program office in the Hamilton Lugar School of Global and International Studies, GA 3072, as soon as possible after arriving on campus to discuss your interests.

The African Studies Program has a team of excellent faculty with expertise in both research and teaching. I have learned a lot from the coursework and interaction with both the staff and faculty in African Studies. As an African student from Kenya, the African Studies Program is my home away from home.
