“Topics” courses explore a variety of issues and subjects through an interdisciplinary lens. Often, these are creative, new courses our faculty are offering to students because of their timeliness, or because they reflect the latest research in the field, or the faculty are passionate about teaching the topic to students. Because these courses change from one semester to another, you may repeat AFRI-L100, taking a different topic for up to 6 credit hours. Examples of recent topics include: Women and Politics in Africa; Gumboot Dance – Beauty From Pain; Introduction to African Art; Akan and Ghanaian Culture.
