Harriet Ayiku is a Ph.D. student at the Indiana University Media School. She spent thirteen years in her home country, Ghana, as an administrator before pursuing her doctorate. Harriet specializes in Health Communication, and her research interests revolve around the convergence of gender studies, public health, and health communication. Her research examines strategies that leverage new media platforms to advocate for policy reform and combat societal stigmas that negatively impact the health of underprivileged populations, including women, children, and other vulnerable populations in Ghana. She has a Master of Business Administration (2014) and a Bachelor of Arts in English (2009) from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Ghana. She also completed her Master of Philosophy studies in Business Communication at the University of Education in Winneba, Ghana, in 2021.
