Intensive language training has been offered at the Bloomington campus of Indiana University since 1950. Up to 200 students participate each year in the summer Language Workshop, completing a full year of college language instruction during a single eight-week summer session. The workshop currently offers Swahili.

Graduate students are eligible to receive FLAS for first year language study under certain circumstances. Students are welcome to contact the associate director if they have specific questions.
