Susan Kavaya is a Ph.D. Minor in African Studies and Ph.D. student in School of Public Health, as well as an Associate Instructor for Kiswahili. She received her Master of Arts in African Studies this spring. Kavaya is continuing her studies at the doctoral level at IU's School of Public Health in Applied Health Science with a minor in Health Behavior, and a Certificate in Reproductive Health. Susan has taught Swahili through IU's Language Workshop for several years, and has volunteered extensively, assisting with the ASP’s outreach into local schools.
