Ismail Akintola is an award-winning writer, and a language instructor specializing in English and Yoruba. Prolific and industrious, Ismail began his journey as a language instructor in 2015. Over the past five years, his penchant for Yoruba Language meant he has taught a broad spectrum of Yoruba topics, including Traditions, Language Structures, Foods, Dressings, Greetings, Occupations, Festivals, and Ceremonies.
Ismail graduated from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria's premier institution, where he studied English Language and Literature. In 2020, he won the Best Essayist Award in the Barrister Mahmud Community Development Essay Competition. He was also the first runner up in a poetry contest organized by Nigerian Association of Writers in 2021. His work includes several published and unpublished pieces in both English and Yoruba. Notably, his Yoruba piece titled "Cashless Policy" was published in 2021 by Egbe Atẹlẹwọ, a Yoruba cultural organization in Nigeria.
Ismail is currently serving as a cultural ambassador and Yoruba FLTA at Indiana University.
